The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) is the authority for issuing preferential Certificates of Origin (COs) in Myanmar. To facilitate the application process for exporters, MoC is now providing the option to apply for Certificates of Origin online.

CofO helps traders save time and costs as all supporting documents can be uploaded electronically. Once the certificate has been approved, applicants can pay online and print out the certificate at home. Afterwards, only one visit to MoC is required to obtain the signature on the final certificate. Online Certificate of Origin applications can be submitted to the following MoC branches: Ministry of Commerce in Yangon (Strand Road), Department of Trade in Yangon (Yankin Township), and Department of Trade in Thilawa SEZ.

The system also allows traders to apply for Product Registration Cards (PRCs) which are required for goods that are not wholly obtained. Once issued, the PRCs can be directly printed and are valid without signature and stamp.

Exporters can also now apply online to become a Certified Exporter (CE) under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA). The CE Code that is generated by the system can be used to upload invoice declaration scans, thus obviating the need for submitting hard copy documents to MoC in person.
